Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 4, 2026
At TwinPane ("we", "us", "our"), we respect your privacy and represent a strong commitment to protecting the security and privacy of your data. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website (twinpane.com) or use our products and services.
1. Data Collection & Processing
TwinPane is designed as a direct peer-to-peer file transfer and mirroring solution between your local device and your remote session (Azure Virtual Desktop, RDS, or Citrix).
- File Data: We do not store, access, or intercept the files you transfer. All file transfers occur directly between your Client and Server instances over an encrypted channel.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous technical telemetry (e.g., error logs, crash reports, feature usage statistics) to help us improve the stability and performance of the software.
2. Account Information
When you purchase a license or sign up for an account, we collect personal information such as:
- Name and contact details (email address).
- Organization name and billing information.
- License key usage and activation status.
We use this information solely for billing, license management, and customer support purposes.
3. Payment Processing
We use Paddle as our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, your payment information is processed securely by Paddle. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. Please refer to Paddle's Privacy Policy for more details.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your account information. The communication between the TwinPane Client and Server is encrypted to ensure your file contents remain private during transfer.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies on twinpane.com. We separate them into two categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for the site to function — for example, your authentication session on the dashboard, your shopping cart at checkout, and a small preference cookie that records your cookie-consent choice itself. These are always on.
- Analytics (optional, opt-in): we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-7M32HKBEMW) to understand which pages visitors land on, which CTAs they engage with, and where the product fails to communicate clearly. IP addresses are anonymised before processing. The Google Analytics scripts are not loaded at all until you click Accept analytics in the cookie banner.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie Preferences in the site footer. Selecting Reject non-essential blocks Google Analytics from loading; we do not use any other third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the marketing site.
6. Legal Basis (GDPR)
For visitors in the EU/EEA, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for optional analytics cookies — set only after you click Accept.
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for account, license, and billing data needed to provide TwinPane to you.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for anonymous, in-product telemetry needed to keep the software stable and secure — balanced against your privacy and limited to what is necessary.
7. Your Rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@twinpane.com.
8. Third-Party Services
The website and service rely on a limited set of third parties: Paddle as Merchant of Record for billing (see Paddle's Privacy Policy) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics for marketing-site analytics (see Google's Privacy Policy).
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
